My upload speed is unusably slow, but the download speed seems fine. I'm currently on the "Unlimited" ADSL2 product.
I appreciate your time to check these stats:
5. DSL uptime: | 7 days, 05:56:35 |
6. Data rate: | 443 / 16293 |
7. Maximum data rate: | 1076 / 16224 |
8. Noise margin: | 25.6 / 6.0 |
9. Line attenuation: | 11.3 / 22.8 |
10. Signal attenuation: | 11.3 / 21.0 |
11. Data sent/received: | 565.5 MB / 10.8 GB |
12. Broadband username: | *Redacted* |
13. 2.4 GHz Wireless network/SSID: | *Redacted* |
14. 2.4 GHz Wireless connections: | Disabled |
15. 2.4 GHz Wireless security: | WPA2 |
16. 2.4 GHz Wireless channel: | Automatic (Smart Wireless) |
17. 5 GHz Wireless network/SSID: | *Redacted* |
18. 5 GHz Wireless connections: | Disabled |
19. 5 GHz Wireless security: | WPA2 |
20. 5 GHz Wireless channel: | Automatic (Smart Wireless) |
21. Firewall: | Default |
My research seems to suggest that with a Maximum Upload Data Rate of 1076 I should be achieving a better actual upload speed. Further diagnostics below (plus one funny picture I took outside the Plusnet office this week)
Thanks in advance.

you need to contact Plusnet to get your upload uncapped - when it was ordered a mistake was made

Thanks for the suggestion. I spoke with two Plusnet representatives, the first of whom told me the line was not capped. The second advised:
This did look like it was capped but unable to place an order due to the fibre order that is already in place.
I cannot operate with such a low upload speed for another 7 days until my fibre order is provisioned. I'd appreciate if this could be escalated and resolved in the mean-time.
Thanks!

unfortunately the BT Openreach system will only allow one order at a time so you are stuck

Why would an upload speed be capped so low? That is not sufficient to play online computer games these days: https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/200525767 and I have tried!

I have an upload speed of 0.36
Plusnet told me yesterday that they are not interested in upload speed, only download.
Just about to pull the plug anyway.

@chickendippers Unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you look at it you have a upgrade to fibre in place which stops us from placing a order to uncap your upload.
@ankado If you can PM me your username I'll see what I can do.

Hi Matthew,
Thanks for the confirmation. I'll add this to my list of complaints which I will be raising once everything if finally sorted.
Considering how many of my problems Plusnet have blamed on BT Openreach, I'm surprised to find you are not members of the Fix Britain's Internet campaign to do something about it!
