Re: Ping times... again...

Ok, Ive managed to get the slow connection onto the City Lifeline gateway, pings seem lower already, so lets see how this all pans out!
Will know for sure in about 2 hours.

Re: Ping times... again...

hmm, has something changed on my account, well, my other acc?
Pings are better, but voip is still far from operable, averaging 150-175ms now.

Re: Ping times... again...

Scott, I'd be interested to see what putting your accounts onto the RIN platform does? You'd still be able to connect to the platform you're on now it's just a case of a username change to switch 'tween the two.

Can you confirm that I wont loose my ip ranges, and if so, im happy to move to RIN.

Re: Ping times... again...

Scott,
You wouldn't *lose* your IP ranges, but they wouldn't work on the RIN platform.  To move onto RIN (once we've set up your account, you would just log in as @plusdsl2.net instead of @plusdsl.net
The IP Ranges are completely different as it's BT Retails network rather than ours.

Re: Ping times... again...

ok, right so its a case of - give it a try on RIN, see if its better, and then just use my normal plus details to get onto the normal platform?

Re: Ping times... again...

Yes, exactly.
It's basically a troubleshooting measure to see if it is the actual connection itself that causing the problem.

Re: Ping times... again...

twas dscentral, i dont see any point in putting the second account on RIN as well, pings from that seem to be ok in evenings.
Scott
Ive had a thought. Since my vpn gateways arent edge devices, RIN is going to wreak havoc with the ip addressing on the routers!

That was fast!
How long does the modify order/workplace mod usually take to apply?
