Ping spikes whilst gaming

Hello,
Whilst playing Counter Strike Global Offence on PC, my ping shoots from mid 40's to high 300's and back down to 40 in the space of 10 seconds, every 10 seconds.
Please assist me on how I can fix this.

Are you on FTTC or ADSL? Wired or wireless? Do you get the spikes all the time or certain times of the day?

Hello Andy! I am on ADSL. I'm currently wireless, but I tested it wired and had the same results. I get spikes all the time, unfortunately. Browsing the internet and watching films is fine, though.

Can you post your router stats (Line Attenuation/Snr Margin etc.)?
Which game is this happening in?

There is a suggestion around disabling gaming mode on the router in there.

Not sure how I show these?
Counter Strike Global Offensive.
I just looked at my Gaming Mode and it's already set to disabled :(.
