Hi guys
I should have broadband up and running on Thursday (ordered through plus net and waiting for line activation...) and now I want to order Sky.... but does Sky need the phone line? Could I end up 'ruining' the broadband order by ordering sky if it needs to use the phone line?
Would appreciate any help...!

As long as you are not ordering a package that includes Sky broadband there will be no problem. Sky just use the phone like a modem/fax would (i.e. the voice side) which will not affect the broadband side.
Just make sure the sky phone connection goes via an ADSL filter/splitter just like all your other phones.
