Packet loss starting to show at peak times again...

I am starting to get packet loss again, primarily between 7 and 11pm.
Is anyone else seeing this or is it just me?

Re: Packet loss starting to show at peak times again...

A week or so ago I did, came down to the gateway I was connected to and congestion.  ptn-ag02 or  ptw-ag01 both gave me loss, currently on pcl-ag03 with none

Thanks for the reply Gus, I remember lots of gateway hopping last time this was happening.
I am currently on ptw-ag04 so will see how things go this evening.

Finguz - which exchange are you on again? Got a TBB graph?
I am seeing increased ping spikes at peak times now - which looks like a BTw issue....

Hi Andy,
I'm on the Scarborough ( MYSCA ) exchange, and here's my live TBB graph.

I noticed your graph some time ago, i did wonder if you where aware of it or not, but looking at it i assumed that you would be seeing issues at Peak time, the graphs don't have to  show packet loss or the congestion hump as defined as yours , for me to notice  the lack of throughput  in both directions,  last night i swapped GW as i was getting 60mbps d/s and my u/s appeared to being throttled when using FTP to upload,  the GW i had been on for the past 14days was PCL 03

It's starting again, so I'll hop and see what happens - currently on pcl-ag05.

Re: Packet loss starting to show at peak times again...

I see no indication of any gateway congestion at all on our side.  I suspect some of the BT exchanges aren't keeping up with everyone getting Ipads and Netflix for xmas 😕  (We've seen a bit uptick in Netflix traffic since Xmas)

That's interesting. There was an article in the FT last week that Netflix and Youtube now account for more than half of all internet downstream traffic (Netflix c. 30%) in the US during peak hours. Verizon won a court case agains the FCC's net neutrality principle (internet providers charge the same rates for data to all content providers, irrespective of the amount downloaded or streamed).

As if by magic, everything returned to normal last night, with not so much as a sniff of loss  Roll_eyes Cheesy
