PPPoE authenticates, but no data

Hi,
I have had a google around, but haven't found a solution to this one. I can authenticate using PPPoE, but I don't get any data over the connection. I have the same problem using a Mac, Draytek router connecting through a Netgear DGN1000 in modem mode and the DGN1000 just connecting using PPPoE. I am using an ADSL2+ connection. PPPoA works fine, but I want to use the Draytek router with the Netgear in modem mode (it gives far better wireless coverage).
Any thoughts?

AFAIK PPPoE can only be used on some but not all ADSL exchange equipment which is a likely reason for that.
