Re: PPP dropped unable to authenticate

You should not loose synch if you use the reconnect guide - http://www.plus.net/home-broadband/router-reconnect
As for this evening's issue - see here - http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,131876.new.html#new

Re: PPP dropped unable to authenticate

Same here: FTTC on the Bradford on Avon Exchange - went out at 18:02 and won't recover.
Now connected via my backup EE ADSL - which still works 🙂

Townman, the PPP session is already down anyway so that guide is irrelevant

Re: PPP dropped unable to authenticate

According to the graphs found here: http://www.plus.net/support/service/network_performance/broadband_bandwidth_usage.shtml it looks like the ptn-ag04 gateway vanished. I'd imagine the bandwidth spikes shortly after 18:00 are due to people downloading iOS 8. Wonder if the two are related!  Undecided

Re: PPP dropped unable to authenticate

This is just rubbish, when will plusnet be reliable again? The last month or so the connections have dropped so frequently it's rediculous, without there being any real explenation.

Re: PPP dropped unable to authenticate

So apple customers are to blame for my not being able to connect? 😛
Seriously though I thought it was my router consider I'd just set it up five minutes prior, thankfully my mobile works as a hot spot or I'd be a little more annoyed right now.
But a spike like that would kill things Sad

Down for me too, but this and the one a day or two ago are the only problems I've had for about a year so hardly a major reliability problem for me.

Why - this one was here first

Jim,
I don't really care which got locked - just we do not want multiple threads on the issue (do we?) and I had just provided a link on that other thread to the problem report.
Don't suppose you really want to manage more threads than need be?
The title on this thread read like the same as the issue around 10 days back - the others sound more like what most people not-in-the-know would say - "Internet is down".

Scouts motto for you Plusnet... "Be prepared" How can we possibly trust our connection when serious downtime are so frequent

Re: PPP dropped unable to authenticate

Well let's find out what the cause is first... I've been connected for 63 days so though it might be wide spread, it is not a pan-user issue.
