Re: PN no longer offering unlimted broadband

Sorry I meant linespeed gaming has to be better not had, I think its a very positive move and means I can at least give Plusnet some more time before wanting to leave.

John,
Unlimited will remain a not-for-sale upto 8Mbps product, but the trialists will not be affected.

Re: PN no longer offering unlimted broadband

Can I ask Plusnet have you been testing this for the past few days?  As my gaming service has seemed to be stable for the past 2-3 days and ping times in WOW have also reduced?

Presumably, as the masses start moving over and usage starts building up towards the capacity they will start to see the rate restrictions kicking in.

Re: PN no longer offering unlimted broadband

What about people on Unlimited who have applied for the 21CN trial but not yet been upgraded? Will that be honoured (or are there not many of them)?

All requests before the closure of the trial will be honoured (and probably already have been!).

Re: PN no longer offering unlimted broadband

Having quickly read the Community FAQ it doesn't seem to state that if we choose to switch from Unlimited to the new 20MB Premium product is the switch free?    Having already received the three month introductory discount when I switched to Unlimited from BBYW I don't suppose that switching to this new product entitles one to a further three month introductory discount, or does it?

Re: PN no longer offering unlimted broadband

There won't be any charge for moving product.
However, you won't receive the entry discount on the new product. (so it'll be £15.99 or £19.99).

Re: PN no longer offering unlimted broadband

Technical question.
If I stay on Value - up to 8Mb - will I be moved to ADSL2+ when my exchange goes live but with an 8Mb cap or will I stay on vanilla ADSL

Re: PN no longer offering unlimted broadband

Will those of us on unlimited get moved to Premium automatically or do we have to change the product in the control panel?

We won't move you - you would need to request it yourself (I'll just reply to your pm now).

Re: PN no longer offering unlimted broadband

Thanks James.
When would the switchover take place?  Would we have to wait for the next billing date as we did when switching to Unlimited?    As I'm off on a two week holiday on Monday, I'll probably wait until I return anyway.

Re: PN no longer offering unlimted broadband

OK heres my question
Does it make sense to change to Plusnet premium even though my exchange isnt upgraded yet.
Will my line be capable of ANYTHING over 8MB on the old exchnage (even 9MB, 10MB, 11MB) or is it completely capped at 8MB.

Re: PN no longer offering unlimted broadband

Markus - Definitely not until your exchange is upgraded.
Coastergrotto - It should complete a week after your account change.
