I rebooted the router on Saturday morning but today (Tuesday) my PN sync displayed on "High Speed Broadband" is still stuck at 2000
Router stats are showing it is still syncing at nearly 5Mb so would expect the PN sync to be at 4000 again
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 4960 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 48 db 15 db
Noise Margin 3 db 21 db
Why hasn't it returned to normal after 4 days?
Do Plusnet need to kick it? If so, can somebody at PN please do so.
P.S. Just checked on BT Speedtester - it is showing BT have my profile set at 4000 so this appears to be an issue at the PN end. Please KICK it.
Many Thanks.

Quote from: Mand Kicked.
Hi Mand, could you please kick my profile?
PN profile was on 2000k for the past few months,
I was moved to ADSL2+ at the start of the week So have been playing with my Target SNR this resulted in my BT profile dropping to 1250k for three days (but the PN profile stayed at 2000k ???)
Last night the BT profile finally went back up to 2000k, but this morning the PN profile has gone down to 1250k
BT tests Below
Lastnight:
Quote from: BT 13-05-10 (23.36)
Download speedachieved during the test was - 1797 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 400-2000 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :2784 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 444 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 2000 Kbps
The throughput of Best Efforts (BE) classes achieved during the test is - 13.91:24.04:62.05 (SBE:NBE:PBE)
These figures represent the ratio while sententiously passing Sub BE, Normal BE and Priority BE marked traffic.
This morning:
Quote from: BT 14-05-10 (11.48)
Download speedachieved during the test was - 1166 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 400-2000 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :2784 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 444 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 2000 Kbps
The throughput of Best Efforts (BE) classes achieved during the test is - 25.73:21.36:52.92 (SBE:NBE:PBE)
These figures represent the ratio while sententiously passing Sub BE, Normal BE and Priority BE marked traffic.
Not sure If I will benefit from it, but could I also request my upstream be uncapped please?
Many Thanks
Vip3r.

Eg, replacing standard extension wiring with Cat5 cable ?

Quote from: Bookworms How much difference is improving internal internal wiring likely to make to the BB speed ?

You can check yourself how much difference it might make:
Now compare the before and after (post them here if you need help interpreting them); if that shows a significant improvement working on your internal setup will help.

Unfortunately it's almost impossible for me to connect directly to the master socket at the moment, although I'm not sure how much difference it would make - the master socket in this house was wired in by BT several years ago (before I moved here) and is at the end of about 10 metres of BT extension cable.
My router WAS connected via another 10 metres or so of ordinary phone extension cord but I've since replaced that with ADSL compatible cable and also replaced the microfilters.
I haven't had any sync problems since.
These are some of my router readings from the last few days;
--------------------------------------------------
Broadband Line Status BT voyager 11 May 2010
Line Mode G.DMT Line State Show Time
Latency Type Interleave Line Up Time 00:01:39:26
Line Coding Trellis Off Line Up Count 156

Line Rate 4416 Kbps 448 Kbps
Noise Margin 15.6 dB 23.0 dB
Line Attenuation 40.0 dB 21.0 dB
Output Power 19.8 dBm 11.9 dBm
after replacing micro filters:
Broadband Line Status 16 May 2010

Latency Type Interleave Line Up Time 00:04:50:26

Noise Margin 19.0 dB 16.0 dB
Line Attenuation 40.0 dB 21.0 dB

and today, after replacing suspect connecting lead:
Broadband Line Status 16 May 2010 19:35

And these are my BT speed test results from the beginning and end of the same period:
