PN Profile and Target Noise Margin

Hi Joanne (or whoever is watching this afternoon)!
It seems I spoke too soon.  My BT Profile has been steady at 9474 kbps for over 24 hours, but my PN Profile remains stuck at 9.1 Mbps.
I'm not too worried about this, as a downstream speed of anything better than 8 Mbps is fine for my purposes.
However, I would be most grateful if you could possibly request an SNR reset at the BT end for me.  My target Noise Margin is currently set at 12 dB, and the only way I can get a decent Sync Rate is by using dmt tool to over-ride the Target Noise Margin.  The high target figure dates back to a few weeks ago when I was using an old and unreliable modem/router, which caused frequent line drops.  This has now been replaced by a new, much better modem/router.  I was able to hold a Sync at 10363/443 and an SNR of around 7.5 dB for the whole of last week, uninterrupted.
Many thanks!
Season's Greetings

Hi Walt,
I've just requested an SNR reset, so I'll check later to see if it's taken effect and adjust your profile accordingly.

Re: PN Profile and Target Noise Margin

Hi Walt,
Can you run a BT speed test and post the results here?

Re: PN Profile and Target Noise Margin

Hi Jojo,
Thanks. It does seem that the SNR reset has been performed, because it has spontaneously resynched at a higher speed than I have ever had before (13795 kbps), but the measured download speed is evidently being limited by the PN Profile.!
I have just done a BT Speed Test and here are the results:
Download speedachieved during the test was - 8067 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 4000-21000 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :13795 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 443 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 12170 Kbps
2. Upstream Test: -provides background information.
Upload Speed
367 Kbps

0 Kbps 443 Kbps
Max Achievable Speed
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 367 Kbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 443 Kbps
We were unable to identify any performance problem with your service at this time.

Also, for your info, here are my current router stats, from which you will see it's presently running at an SNR Margin of only 1.4 dB, which is precariously low!  I would expect it will soon resync at a somewhat lower speed.
Mode: ADSL_2plus
Traffic Type: ATM
Status: Up
Link Power State: L0

                             Downstream                      Upstream
Line Coding(Trellis): On                                 On
SNR Margin (0.1 dB): 14                               280
Attenuation (0.1 dB): 345                         160
Output Power (0.1 dBm): 0                       128
Attainable Rate (Kbps): 16880               1120

Path 0
                        Downstream   Upstream
Rate (Kbps):            13795         443

Hope this helps,

Re: PN Profile and Target Noise Margin

Hi Walt,
I've just raised your profile on our side to 12100 to allow for your new IP profile. You should see the increase in the next 15 minutes.

Re: PN Profile and Target Noise Margin

Thanks again for your very prompt and efficient service, Jojo.  Much appreciated.
I'll leave it to settle down now and see what happens.
