PN Mail - SMTP

I'm having problems sending via SMTP (relay.plus.net) but can retrieve just fine on POP3 - can send via Outlook to hotmail all ok, so I've ruled out firewall (NIS 2008)
Anyone else having any problems? if so, raise it in this thread and I'll see if I can't give someone a kick.
Roger.

Re: PN Mail - SMTP

I sent a test e-mail about 10min ago, still not back, so it looks like it is not just isolated to yourself.

Re: PN Mail - SMTP

Just sent myself a message via r.p.n to various email addresses..  will report back on delays but they appeared to be accepted for delivery.

Re: PN Mail - SMTP

I've just changed back from RIN (plusdsl2) to a PN connection and everything has gone through ok...
I think this might be a BT issue - It should be checked out though.

Still waiting for the test e-mail to a PN account, but one to gmail was instant.

Re: PN Mail - SMTP

Is this a mods thread or can anyone join in.
Has the issue been resolved yet?

Re: PN Mail - SMTP

Email arrived on all but the internal Plusnet address, which is currently routed through Postini.
Still waiting for that one, will examine the headers when it arrives

Re: PN Mail - SMTP

Anyone can join in - if I wanted this to be closed, I would have posted in a private area.
I can now send ok, but there seems to be a delay in them coming back via postini covered email addresses.
One thing I can think of is that they have been hit by a botnet and they are struggling to strip out the rubbish atm - who knows, but a reply from PN to allay any fears would be good right now..

Re: PN Mail - SMTP

Interestingly, the first test email I sent (via Postini) has never arrived.
Second one did within seconds though.
I shall investigate further

Re: PN Mail - SMTP

I have sent a few now, and any that have been sent to a particular address (not via postini trial) have been delivered immediately, but anything running through postini seem to be delayed by quite a significant amount of time..
