I read somewhere that it is linespeed, but I am not getting anywhere near that. After 12am I can download at around 650KBs when downloading from the web, but when I try p2p the max speed it has reached is 70KBs! Is there something wrong with my setup? I get the green tick at the bottom of utorrent.

Possibly, I pretty much hit line speed until midday. Obviously it depends on the swarm speed and number of seeds to peers as to what speed you'll get.

Addnan,
Sometimes uTorrent will set it's own transfer speed limit - check this isn't set by right-clicking the uTorrent icon in the system tray, click "Download Limit" and then click "Unlimited".

There must be something wrong with the Thomson, because as soon as I plugged in my DG834G it starting hitting 600KBs.

Line speed means that there are no rate limits being applied.
P2P is still subject to traffic prioritisation and will be treated at a lower priority than web.

If you're using v2.0b or later of uTorrent you should be aware of this:

Does it react to other uses of bandwidth you may have active?
Quote uTP is an alternative communication method for BitTorrent traffic that allows the client to automatically regulate its bandwidth usage to avoid adversely impacting your internet connection. This will allow you or other users on the network to download their torrents but still allow others on the network to function with little difference. This does not require any additional setup.
In addition, uTP in this version has added its own form of STUN, a method of getting incoming connections without direct connectivity to the Internet. This allows µTorrent to punch holes through routers and firewalls to increase connectivity and improve speeds. It is even possible to connect two firewalled peers through uTP's NAT traversal feature.

all i can say is the most users ive seen on one torrent with 2.0 or above has bein 5 out of 150 connected.
if that makes a diffrence to the speed when more are using the protocol i do not know.
