Overnight Usage.

As far as I am aware, usage between Midnight and 8 AM is free.
So after midnight I watch online videos (YouTube) to take advantage of this.
However, I have noticed that my usage is quite high. So this morning I switched my PC on to check my usage to see if it did charge me, and low and behold, it said I had used nearly 400MB of usage already.
How is this so?

Re: Overnight Usage.

Hi
What package are you on?
If you check here your daytime usage is shown in magenta and your 12 till 8am usage in cyan.

Re: Overnight Usage.

Thanks for the reply Derek, I'm on the 60GB with free overnight downloads (up to 8AM).
I just don't underestand how you can use 400MB just by turning the PC on and going to my account page. It's bizarre.

Re: Overnight Usage.

Assuming nothing else is or has been connected to the router since 8AM, when you turn on your PC and immediately go to the View My Broadband Usage page you should see no more than a few kilobytes of connection "keep-alive" usage for the current day. Even if anti-virus updates, Windows patches or e-mails were downloaded on start up and/or browser pages opened, it takes a few minutes (at least) before that usage will be shown by the tool.
Does any usage show if your router was switched off?
