Outages in the Torquay area

yesterday for most of the working day my internet kept going down. I thought it was my computer - didn't bother wasting time with plusnet - a 30 minute wait time to answer the phone (can't they employ and train some of 3 million unemployed?). After spending a considerable amount of time fiddling to try and sort the problem a friend informed me late yesterday that all of the Torquay area was affected and was caused most probably by BT (a plusnet company) working on something in the local exchange. It is disgraceful that plusnet didn't bother to inform their customers that day long outages were going to occur. Plusnet are successful in getting thousands of new customers on board but with their present customer service levels they won't be keeping many.

Re: Outages in the Torquay area

There is no indication of a problem on the BT outages list at Plusnet - http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/mso.php ; - which probably means that Plusnet were not informed of a problem.

Re: Outages in the Torquay area

Try directing your anger at BT, not Plusnet. They have no control whatsoever over BT. I've no doubt that the other isps in your area weren't able to notify their clients either.

@rivieraman
I'm really sorry to hear about the issues you've had there. As hinted at by PeeGee this issue isn't something that affected a widespread area and hence wasn't something we knew about which explains why you weren't warned.

This graph represents each time you've connected or disconnected over the past few days. It shows that there was an intermittent problem yesterday, however that seems not to be a problem for you today as far as we're able to tell.
If you're still experiencing issues or have a similar problem in the future again I'd strongly advise either calling support on 0800 432 0200 or raising a fault with us assuming you're able to browse via another means: http://faults.plus.net
