Re: Oooohhh! Shiny New Button!

I'm not sure that V7 firmware will work with V5 hardware, but I guess I've got nothing to lose.
I'll give it  a go when I get home................

Re: Oooohhh! Shiny New Button!

I've not tried flashing the V7 firmware yet as I ran out of time last night after waiting an hour for it to download on my backup dial-up connection  Sad
I'll try it this evening..........

Re: Oooohhh! Shiny New Button!

Phone line was completely dead when I got home last night - no DSL or Voice. Sad
If there wasn't a jumpering problem before, there is now! (ticket has been updated with new problem).
New router arriver (thanks James).
I'll try it out whan I get something to connect it to!

Re: Oooohhh! Shiny New Button!

@whisky
That is exactly what happened to my line when BT moved me over to the trial last week and did whatever they do in the exchange!
Since then have been connected all week with no problems (fingers crossed) and have seen a marginal increase in sync speed and line stabilty but as I'm on the end of a long line it has not made that much difference...
Fingers crossed and good luck! Cheesy

Re: Oooohhh! Shiny New Button!

All fixed when I got home yesterday.
New router connects OK  Smiley
DSL Type: G.992.3 annex A (ADSL2)
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1,012 / 5,038
My old router (ST585 V5, firmware 5.4.4.1) still fails authentication.
I'll try to investigate this a bit more; perhaps it's a config problem?
Is there anyone on the 21CN trial reading this who is using a ST585 V5?
I would guess that there's still quite a few in use out there....
Thanks for the help James.
