Occasional problems logging on to TG582

Hi,
I have a minor irritation in that whenever my internet connection is lost for whatever reason, I cannot logon to the plusnet router. My laptop sees the wireless network no problem and I can get to the router logon screen but when I enter username and pswd it simply refreshes the screen. I have tried using ethernet connection with the same result. So I cannot get use the router interface to restart but have to power off/on. All other times, when internet is on, the router accepts username/pswd with no problem.
This seems counter intuitive - I should still be able to communicate with the router and indeed I have used a TG582 before with BE internet where I have had no problem logging on with internet unavailable.
I would appreciate any ideas to resolve this - thank you.

I have only notice it drop twice  in 12 days!!
Are you seeing anymore than this?!?!?

Re: Occasional problems logging on to TG582

Nope, you are quite correct. As I said, it is a minor irritation and it does not happen often. Its just that when it does, I get the problem I outlined which seems odd.

Re: Occasional problems logging on to TG582

I agree it does!
I would say it seems to be a router issue!
Please take a look at this ticket reference!

Thanks Oldjim - it was in closed questions - never looked there as I had never explicitly opened one - all is well

Sorry to hijack this thread but wondering if it's the same problem I raised a few days ago.
If that's the case, how can I go about ordering a replacement router?

Looks like the same problem - although curiously it only happened to me when internet was unavailable - fine otherwise. I tried several browsers all with the same result.

Re: Occasional problems logging on to TG582

Ah, therein lies the difference, but "Web Browsing Interception" should not prevent you from logging in to the 582n. Did you ever try a factory reset to see if the problem went away?
I think I would experiment by trying that, and then if the problem continues disable "Web Browsing Interception" and see if any problems arise if you lose connection.
Did you really only lose connection twice in 12 days? This might be caused by a variety of things, have you attempted to discover any cause?
