21CN is BT's updated telecom services and for broadband means ADSL2+.

If you have a really old modem/router you might want to worry about whether it is compatible with ADSL2+.

You can get a new one if necessary from Plusnet for £4.99 postage and an agreement to stay for 12 months.

It means that you will move to 21CN but it doesn't necessarily mean you will be moved to ADSL2+ as they are two separate things.
You can't get ADSL2 unless you are on 21CN but you don't have to be on ADSL2 if you are on 21CN
The basic rule is that if the expected speed on is less than about 4000kbps then you will stay on ADSL1 as that is about the break point where you wouldn't see a speed increase and indeed may see a reduction due to instability
Moving to 21CN means that your line will be moved to different equipment in the exchange which will support ADSL1 (which you are on at present) ADSL2 and ADSL2+

HI BenG
That router should be fine when you're changed over.
