Re: Noise Margin

Still having fun watching my router stats lol, I have left everything sort it self out and now sync speed is at the max.
I have noticed the higher the noise margin the more stable my router stats seem, i have tried everthing i can think of to see if its my end thats the problem and cant find anything wrong no line noise etc etc etc, so im stumped.
Can my noise margin by set not to go below 9db?Huh

Re: Noise Margin

Hi again,
I'm not the Netgear expert, you'll have to wait for one but those errors do seem a touch high. Which is no real surprise if your Routerstats graph still looks like the last one you posted. Not only very spiky but that step as well. Any electrical apparatus nearby coming on or going off?

Should help your connection, what do you have at the moment?, mine corrected my noise margin which now lets me sync to 8128Kbps ;).
If you want any help setting it up ( I had problems getting it working with routerstats) give us a shout..

Re: Noise Margin

HaydnExport, you should be able to get a 6M profile with your line attenuation if it's not noisy, but something has pushed your Target SNRM up to 12dB by the looks of it. Can you hear/have you heard any crackling or other intermittent noises on your phone line?

Re: Noise Margin

Hi, no crackling or noise as far as i'm aware , but we use cordless phone.  I think me trying to resync every 3 days is putting my noise margin up??  I'm waiting for a bt2700hgv to be delivered in the hope it will be better than the one i have (thompson)

I'm going to stop trying to sync higher when the router gets here ,  but how will i get a higher sync rate without restarting, and raising my noise margin?Huh

Re: Noise Margin

Hello, when you get your new router i would track the noise margin for a day if it seems steady no errors etc do a reboot in the morning and again the next day this may help your sync raise or do what i have done leave it sort it self mine reboots sometimes and allways syncs above a 6500 Profile.
