I don't understand why all products aren't being transferred to 21CN (once they get it working).
BT charge less for it and the the "up to 8Mbps" products can be speed-limited.

We started regrading customers across to ADSL1 on 21CN this month, the first 150 were done a week or so ago and the next 250 are due over the course of this week and next. The next batch after that is due early December and we'll do some more in January. The first 2 batches have all been emailed, the 3rd we've started and will finish emailing tomorrow or Monday.
We're going slowly to start with to see what the fault rate is and things like that and to ADSL1 initially rather than ADSL2+. Should also make the transition to ADSL2+ easier for those that choose to upgrade to an up to 20Mbps product as the jumpering will have already been done to switch to 21CN and it will be quicker to change (1 working day rather than 5).
Next bandwidth increase on 21CN is pencilled in for 1st December when the next batch of orders starts to complete.

Wotcher ASBO,
Basically the only difference is the connection technology - adsl, rather than adsl2+. Otherwise it's exactly the same.
Neither of the services are IPSC by the way, it's all WBMC.

Re: No encouragement to upgrade?

So does it mean PN will move people onto IPSC, and then at some time enable ADSL2+ but cap it at 8Mb? There are a significant number of people who are on lines that will never get above 8Mb even on ADSL2+. Has this option been ruled out or extremely unlikely, it seems the 21CN DLM logic is getting sorted out finally.
