Hi,
Over the past few days I've expereinced the 'No Internet Access' message on my laptops/PC (all Windows7) and then bursting back into life again (unaided). Looking at the router stats, there doesn't seem to be any 'disconnects/reconnects' (apart from one I force around 10:30 am today).
Connection is wired (not wireless) and although there are homeplugs bridging routers on my network, I can still ping all other devices when this happens plus the network has been stable for months. Oh, and there's no BT van outside either
Can someone see if there are any disconnect/reconnects from the PN side ?
Thanks,
John

Hi there,
Your line has had very few drops;

Do you have any devices that are connected directly to the router and not through the homplugs? Is that the same?

Thanks for the reply. I've had a couple of continuous ping routines running since lunchtime (porting out to a text file) but nothing has occurred. One ping to the main router and another to www.bbc.co.uk
Nothing is directly connected to the main router (except a homeplug) due to it's location.
I'll monitor the situation over the weekend by the complaints from the cries from the family that "the bloomin' internet is down" as I tend to leave it alone at the weekend (just a Mon-Fri person normally). I'll continue to the ping routines as from Monday to see what happens.
Thanks for the graph.

Hi there,
Having just checked I can see that you're current connection has been up for over 3 days now. Re the homeplugs, what I'm sure Chris was getting it is that it would be worth seeing if you can rule those out for one of the machines in case some aspect of that set up is causing the disconnections.

Hi Adam,
Funny you should post a comment as the line has just dropped. Then the phone went and it was Simon from PN asking about the problem. Seems that he has reset the SNR back to 6, Years ago I was on an ADSL2 trial and the SNR was hard coded at 3 - this gave me good connection speeds and the line was stable.
Anyway, going to leave the SNR at 6 as I still get a decent connection speed and reliability is important at the moment.
As for ruling out the homeplugs, very difficult due to the location of the main router. Lets see if the SNR change to 6 helps, if not, then I'll see what options I have regarding homeplugs.
Thanks
John
