No Estimated Line Speed.

Hi all

 

I went on the portal to check my estimated line speed today, but it said...

"Estimated line speed:There's no speed estimate currently held on your account.

Current line speed:50.8 Mb"

 

Please can anyone advise?

Don't worry about it, it has no relevance to your actual speeds which depend on your sync speeds, BT IP profile and the PlusNet profile derived from that.

As RealAle has said, it shouldn't be anything to be concerned about. I'd always recommend checking speed estimates over at http://dslchecker.bt.com to be honest.

Crumbs! Just checked on the BT link. I inputted my number and please excuse my ignorance but I have no idea what type I have. 

 

All i know is that I have Plusnet superfast broadband through my phone line. 

I did a test on the Which checker and got these results:

Response time (latency) 85 ms
Download speed 29.6 Mbps
Upload speed 16.9 Mbps
 
I have attached the BT results.
 
Please could someone translate this for me?
 
Sorry I am a bit of a luddite when it comes to connections!

Actually the Which test above I did a few hourse ago. Just redid it and its even worse.

 

Response time (latency) 79 ms
Download speed 14.5 Mbps
Upload speed 17.0 Mbps

For testing speeds can you run this tester: http://speedtest.btwholesale.com/ on a wired connection and let us know what the results look like.

The attached image shows the estimates for your line, the link I provided is a BT wholesale speedtest. It should give you a good indication of the speeds of your line if you perform it on a wired connection. -Chris

Incidentally, last night I waited on the Plusnet chat window for 1 1/4 hours for some help. I went down from 17 in the queue to 4, then, presumably it then closed, and I was simply cut off with an advisory message to try again later. Pi**ed off wouldn't even half describe how I felt.
