No ADSL light on router. Recent connectivity issues

Hi all
We've had recent issues with inconsistent connections and loss of broadband for no discernible reason. I called support who asked me to remove the faceplate and connect via the master socket two weeks ago today. The very helpful chap I spoke to then called me back the following Monday (18th) and said that the line looked far more stable and we agreed that there hadn't been any dropouts.
Fast forward to last night arriving home around 9pm and the only light onnour router was the WiFi one, checking the phone line gives me a dial time but no amount of power refreshes on the router have given me the ADSL light for more than maybe 20 seconds at most.
Any ideas what else I can try? I'm going to call today and see about a fibre upgrade anyway I think which would eliminate a potentially bad connection in the master socket if I'm right. In the meantime though am I just paying for no usage?
This is really frustrating If anyone can provide any help I'd be really grateful

That looks like hell.
Fibre is fantastic and offers many advantages, but don't do it just to fix the fault.
If you do go for fibre, the equipment will be new with the exception of your socket to the cab near you, so the chances are, it will resolve the problem.
If the test socket hasn't resolve the current issue (which it does appear to have), and if the modem can be ruled out, you need a fault raising quickly. If you can confirm that it's all been done, please let me know here and I'll push it through for you.

Hi yes phone works and fault raised. Also grabbing new rj11 and micro filter today to test.

Got a fibre upgrade booked in (11mb to 33mb, well worth it) next Friday engineer visit.
Would appreciate help getting stability in the meantime though if possible. Will feedback after fitting new rj11 and microfilter this evening

It's a little more stable over the last hour or so, but obviously we'd like to see a longer period than this before thinking it's all ok. Let us know when you've switched those bits out.

Micro filter swapped over. It seems stable thus far, if there are any other issues I'll replace the ADSL cable. I'm keen to see what the fault was as well so keeping thing separate for now Smiley

Still a bit flakey although it hasn't dropped yet today. Fingers crossed it will be usable till next Friday Smiley

Latency is still regular and severe in patches. Is there anything I can do to help this please?
