New member, no internet.

Hi, I recently signed up to Plusnet, and was told my broadband would be working on Monday (17 Sep). The phone line was set up the week before and that works fine, but as of yet, the internet still doesn't seem to work.
I have a Belkin N150 Modem Router, the router light is green and the ADSL light just flashes orange. So is it just me? Or is there a major problem somewhere?

Hi mikeyturvey,
Your account is all set up as it should be here. Are you using any extension cables/sockets? Have you tried a different filter?

Re: New member, no internet.

I've tried a different router, a different microfilter and I don't use an extension. I can connect to the router, but there isn't any internet.

Hi mikeyturvey,
Have you tried plugging into the test socket?

Re: New member, no internet.

Silly questions, but have you put in the right username and password?  Does the router show you are connected to the exchange or not?

Hi mikeyturvey,
Your router is showing in sync from my line check. Have a look at the picture and tell me the status of lights 1,2 & 3

Re: New member, no internet.

Being in sync with the exchange but having no connection would be consistent with you not putting in the correct user name and password.

Re: New member, no internet.

Hello again! My internet now works! After hearing how the line seemed fine on your end I decided to take the router back to Tesco and get a new one. This one works! It seems the other one I tried must have been broken also. Sorry for all the bother, thanks for all your help!

I suspect this threw people off the scent.
