New green box

For the last week there have been temporary traffic lights outside my house but today they are gone and the green box across the road has been joined by a second green box slightly thinner and a bit taller. As my exchange was going fibre to cabinet in 2014 I'm guessing that's the reason. I currently getting 4.5 mbps ( stable for the last 11 days)  and find i get between 4-5 mbps. This is perfectly adequate for my needs, All this has prompted me to think about my broadband. I don't crave superfast speeds as I don't use iplayer and the like or stream films from netflix etc. My kids are on the verge of leaving home so their excessive streaming will soon cease.
I'm currently on plusnet unlimited and pay £16.99 per month for the privilige and that seems very uncompetitve. I've paid my line rental to BT as a single amount so can't move my phone provision for around another 6 months, but unclear on what to jump to and when. I don't think unlimited fibre (if i can get it)  is required, but it looks like having phone and broadband together is the way to go.
Any advice?

Re: New green box

Hi Groundsman,
Call the Customer Options Team (the I'm thinking of leaving team) and ask what better deal they can offer you.  You'll be surprised what might be available just for asking.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Re: New green box

I'd agree with Townman.  I got mine reduced to £6.50 which I was quite happy with

I'm paying less than £15.00 per month for 80/20 unlimited fibre! Give the team a call ASAP. Smiley

Re: New green box

i suspect all these deals are based on you taking line rental from them.
i don't want to switch line rental so guess these offers never get to me.

Re: New green box

No, there have been lots of package changes over the years with and without PN phone - just even cheaper with phone bundled in.
Just make the call and either save a bundle of money or get a lot more for your money. You might also want to check the communications preferences on your account - marketing notifications might be switched off.

Re: New green box

i'm currently £12.49 for unlimited ADSL.
wouldn't mind moving to the 40/20 unlimited fibre, but not at £17.49 with a £50 activation fee on an 18 month contract when it's only £14.99 with no activation fee when you have landline with them.

Re: New green box

I never received an offer - I just rang them up and asked them for one as a loyal customer as otherwise I was thinking of leaving for somewhere more competitive.  If you don't ask you don't get Smiley

Try that in my business sector and you will be told
1. Foxtrot Oscar
2. take your current business elsewhere - your account/service is being terminated.
Same applies to employee trying the same
P45 and escorted off the premises within the hour.
