Well, not looking as good as predicted, my SNR dropped after the 8Mbps was activated ...

Dont Panic!
This was actually expected to happen, boring technical reasons not so interesting to go into here just now. You still have a 13db margin too which means long term you should have a stable connection ... fingers crossed!
So now you are on 8Mb, if you 13db value drops to 9db or 6db in the evenings, do not be too worrried, but if it does go down to 2 or 3db, then it could be a line fault has developed.

Your current broadband speed is 7000 Kbps

Ooohhhhh no it's not! Cheesy
It's picked back up to 7150Kbps again, so I've just changed your profile.  Try rebooting your router and running another speedtest and see how you get on?
Also, if you could try running a BT Speedtest from http://www.speedtester.bt.com that might help us show you how to give it a bit more of a poke Smiley

I have tried several times over the past day to use BT Speedtest, all I get is this
(top progress bar)
Exception::access denied (java.net.SocketPermission 217.32.105.42:50301 connect,resolv
(bottom progress bar)
Progress: 96%
and there it sticks

Ah. You need to have Sun Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed which you should be able to get from here - http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp

Re: New connection and stuck at 2Mbps?

Thanks for that Anotherone, but it still didn't work, same result.
Then got to thinking so I tried IE instead of Firefox.
Result was:

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test:  -provides background information.
    Your DSL connection rate: 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM),  448 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 7150 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 6553 kbps
It seems to be all OK again, not sure what the problem was
