New account connection issues

I've been setting up a new broadband (v8) router, and having tried everything I can find online or in the help book, attributed the problem to the internet outage yesterday. (Did things like factory reset, change microfilter, changed phone socket, changed service order...)
Only problem is, I still can't connect - unless (strangely) I connect to the plusnet site itself. If I load any other page it says 'Gathering information' and says the page will refresh when ready. This suggests I *have* an internet connection but there is a problem between my computer and the router, or with the router.
Would really appreciate any help. I'm using OSX, by the way.

Just tried ringing you to explain. Because you factory reset your router you have wiped your details from the router. I can see your connection but not with your details. You just need to go into the router and enter your username@plusdsl.net and password. If you're at home and can't do this then let me know and I'll give you a quick ring to sort it out for you.
