OK, ignore the comment about how well the line is performing, if your line estimate is anything to go by that attenuation figure can't be right.

The downlink has a huge error rate this may be causing either the router or exchange to drop the line and restart it, could this be your internal telephone wiring ? I assume you have tried the modem in the test socket ?

I was going to address that point in a moment but do NOT just unplug it from the line. First to comment on the fact that the connection has dropped since the last stats or the modem/router has been powered off or rebooted.
Based on your line estimate and the fact that the SNRM has remained in the 12dB ball-park after the connection has dropped the DLM will have upped the Target SNRM (that was an assumption menioned before but could not be assumed for definite as the line might have resynced in the presence of noise/interference which has since gone away. The raised Target SNRM is resulting in slower speeds, but that higher attenuation says there is a problem somewhere with the connection. I'll post up some basic questions and suggestions in the next post.

OK here is all the basic stuff, which you might have been through if you used the Troubleshooter, but with out knowing how you are currently set up, can't give the optimum advice.
Do you have an NTE5a Master socket like the one on the left - it has the split across the middle? Do all your Filters look similar to this?
Do you have any extension phone sockets - hard wired or plug in, and what is normally plugged in where? Do you use any extension leads between the phone socket and filter or filter and modem/router?
As mentioned previously, don't just unplug the modem/router from the line or the filters connecting it - power off the modem/router first and wait for a minute after doing so. This is so any intermittent connection that may occur during that process doesn't cause errors or apparent drops in the connection which may cause DLM to raise the Target SNRM or Band the speed.
If you have the NTE5a master socket and you have extensions, we'll address wiring next.

The router/modem hasn't been switched off or rebooted between the two statistics tables I posted.
We don't have a NTE5a Master Socket, from the picture you linked we have the smaller one on the right.
The filter looks similar to the one you posted, however there is no wire between the filter and connecting end (not sure if this makes any difference?)
Our phone is right next to the socket and is plugged into to phone part of the filter. This is the same with the modem/router, in the other slot on the filter.

Right, so you have an old-style master socket but I assume from no mention, you have no extension sockets which would mean no extension wiring to worry about - you are plugged into the one and only phone socket in the house?
Can you see the cable & route of the cable from the master socket to outside - does it go overhead to a pole? Are there any other joints or boxes between the master socket and outside?
This filter? The type shown in the link I gave is commonly nick-named a rat's-tail filter because of that short length of wire between the filter body and the plug to go into the phone socket.
Now if I've understood you correctly the filter you are using is a solid block filter where the plug to the phone socket on the wall, is part of the filter body?
Did no rat's-tail type filters come with your TP-Link Router?

Yes as far as I am aware this is the only socket in the house. Here is a picture of the cable coming from the master socket (needs rotating vertically). The wire goes from the master socket up to that littler box at the top of the window. The wiring then goes outside to the back of the house, from what I can tell goes up the side of the house up the guttering. Then by the looks of things it wraps around to the front of the house, then extends over the main road to a pole.
Yes, one of the rats tail filters did come with the new box. One of the things we were told by PN was to try all new filters and wiring, this was done and made no difference.
Yes here is a link to one that looks similar: http://www.tekheads.co.uk/product/TekValue-ADSL-Filter--Splitter_19323.html
I am assuming the rats tail ones are better and should be used instead?
Thanks,

Indeed, the rat's-tail type are superior, or perhaps more accurately most solid-block filters of the type you are using will not give the performance the line is capable of.
You may not have noticed a difference because any changes to sync speeds, attenuation etc. which may result in improved profiles take time to propagate through the system - your Current Line speed has to update before you would see the benefit.
OK, if you power off your modem.router and after about a minute, unplug the old filter and old lead. Use the new filter, and the new lead that came with the TP-Link and plug that in but don't power up yet.
Whilst you are off-line, can you take the cover off the little white box and take a picture of the connections and wires in it making sure there's enough light to clearly see them and their colours and a bit of the cable that goes to outside.
When you've done that, if you've been off-line for at least 15 minutes, then power up and post a new set of stats and we'll see what the differences are.

Thanks @Anotherone
Unfortunately I'm away now for a few weeks so will have to try this out when I'm back.
I'll update once I've followed your steps.
Thanks again.

OK below are the pictures of the inside of the box and also he stats page after following your instructions.
The box has is a bit of a mess as you can see there are 6 wires, a blue one with white stripes and a white one with blue stripes are the one connected.
The other 4 are not connected which include; red with white stripes, white with red stripes, green with white stripes and white with green stripes.
I have been told that whilst I have been away the connection has been dropping and a reboot of the modem is needed to get back online.
I have now switched to a rats tale splitter and new wire.

@Anotherone Forgot to tag you in the previous post with pics and stats. I am back home fully now so can try out any other troubleshooting steps you may have.
Thanks.

Sorry for lack of response as I am away. I'll have to look at this in more detail and reply later in the week.
