Is it easier for it to be pushed to my router?

Yes, it rather annoying the method by which one has to log in to do anything, but if you are sticking to the default admin username, just type the password in.

The firmware upgrade tool in the link at the start of the thread doesn't work on Windows 8, but the one Bob uploaded before here: http://www.binarybob.plus.com/thomson/Windows%207%20Upgrade%20Tool.zip does work in Windows 7 compatibility mode.

Thanks for the comment. I've amended the update guide to mention that.

Re: New TG582n FTTC firmware - 10.2.5.2 - For testing

Hey  Smiley
After updating to '10.2.5.2.EO', I found an issue to report.
Attempting to access the 'Remote Assistance' (under 'Toolbox') will result in a '500 - Internal Server Error'.

Re: New TG582n FTTC firmware - 10.2.5.2 - For testing

I've updated to version 10.2.5.2 and it's working fine so far, apart from one thing.
The login is somewhat annoying because it doesn't remember the username and won't let the browser (Firefox) remember the password either ???.  Am I missing something, is there a way to get the landing page to remember the username like it used to with version 8.C.M.0?
BTW I have only one username set up and naturally it's the default.

There is also another issue to report regarding wireless security.
When I have my WLAN Security setting "Allow New Devices" set to "New stations are allowed (via registration)", when I remove a device from the Devices list, they are able to reconnect a few seconds later without me needing re-activate "Search for wireless devices" (registration mode).

Maybe this can help, someone mentioned something similar to this earlier in this thread:

Got fed up with the login screen defaulting to "admin".
So I've hunted out the command to make it default to my own pre-configured username: npr
cli command:
env set var=DefUser value=npr
Cool

You'll need to telnet into the router to execute the command. The username and password are the same as you currently use to enter the web administration panel.
Linux should be easy, however if you're on windows and don't have telnet, you can install via "Turn Windows features on or off" or use PuTTY:

Re: New TG582n FTTC firmware - 10.2.5.2 - For testing

I got that fed up with the login, not remembering the password, and the slow interface I've now switched back to 8.C.M.0
It wasn't until I'd moved back that I realised how painfully slow the interface was with the new firmware.

Isn't error 500 a permission issue?

I get an error 500 too... So far the firmware seems pretty solid to me and I've seen a slight increase in transfer speeds over WiFi.
