New Fibre Install

Hi,
When my Fibre was installed my speed was around 70M as expected and as confirmed by the BT engineer.
Since then this has dropped to around 9M consistently, as if the line has been capped in some way?.
Is it normal to settle at this low speed within the 10 days?
Many Thanks

Re: New Fibre Install

Hi there
I've had a brief look over your connection and I haven't been able to locate any issues with your connection.
Are these tests being carried out over a wired or a wireless connection?
Can you also carry out a BT Speedtest over a wired connection using the link below
http://speedtest.btwholesale.com
Make sure to click further diagnostics after the initial result and enter your telephone number
This sends us a copy of your result that we can look over
If you have any further issues let us know

Re: New Fibre Install

Thanks Matthew.
I ran this test and was getting download speeds of around 3M on Ethernet.
I then restarted the BT openreach modem and now have download speeds of 71M!
Seems to have done the trick, so I'll keep and eye on it. Is this the norm?

Re: New Fibre Install

Sounds like the modem just had a funny sync. I wouldn't expect it to drop that low again on the modem.

Re: New Fibre Install

Yeah, I'd just keep an eye on it and see how things go. Let us know if this becomes a regular occurrence.
