New FTTC install - very slow download speed

Hello,
I had FTTC installed yesterday morning but the resulting download speed was very slow at 0.6 Mbps.  So I checked with customer services after waiting some 4 hours for an improvement as advised by the installation engineer (Kelly Comms).  I was told by customer services that I had to be patient and wait for an improvement. 
However, the results of a BT check this morning:
1. Best Effort Test:  -provides background information.

Download Speed
0.43 Mbps
0.45 Mbps Max Achievable Speed
 Download speedachieved during the test was - 0.43 Mbps
 For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 0.36 Mbps-0.45 Mbps .
 Additional Information:
 IP Profile for your line is - 0.45 Mbps
2. Upstream Test:  -provides background information.

Upload Speed
0.5 Mbps
 
20 Mbps Max Achievable Speed
This speed is less than half of my previous ADSL speed.
My order number for the install is BP01874478.
Do I have to wait for it to improve or can something be done to raise my download IP profile?

I've just updated the speed profile on your account, that should have improved things. Please let me know if not.

Just checked and there is no increase in speed.
Download speedachieved during the test was - 0.37 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 0.36 Mbps-0.45 Mbps .

How long should your input take to kick-in?

Sorry to hear that didn't have the desired effect, it would seem there must be another issue at play.
