Re: New FTTC install, slow speeds

Would you be able to complete a Factory Reset to see if this helps things?

Ill try a factory reset (not that I've changed anything anyway)

Re: New FTTC install, slow speeds

I cant now get the router to respond to me trying to log into it.
I just get timeout errors when I try to open 192.168.1.254.
Tried reboots and no change.
I cant even get in to re-enable the ping response for the TBB graphs.
But as you can see I am still connected and seems connection wise.
Is this equipment supposed to be reliable?Huh

Do I need to get a new router?

Re: New FTTC install, slow speeds

Hi philcecchini,
I've just looked over the line and it appears that the modem hasn't seen any disconnects recently, however, the router does appear to have disconnected on a few occasions.
To rule the router out being at fault, I've sent you a replacement. Can you let us know how you get on with that?

Re: New FTTC install, slow speeds

Hi Chris,
Same problems im afraid. Crashes at 9pm last night and approx 8.45 this morning. Seems to be about 3-4 per day at least.

New router using new PSU, different plug socket, even got the router dangling in the air to make sure its not overheating!
Logs confirm that the router is crashing.
Is this usual for this router? Can you send a different brand?
Thanks

Re: New FTTC install, slow speeds

Hi philcecchini,
I'm just wondering if you made a call on that a bit quickly.
The connection looks stable from our point of view and the profile is set appropriately:

Apart from the logs showing that, what happens from your point of view when it crashes?
We don't have any other types of fibre router we could send, perhaps a factory reset on the new one might be a good idea.

Re: New FTTC install, slow speeds

I can see the session drop on the TBB ping graph, and if I get to the router I see the reboot in the logs, however the logs are very limited and are overwritten very quickly.
The DSL is not dropping, just the PPP session. You should be able to see it in your logs.
Ive tried factory restarts and defaults etc, infact the settings on the router are all default anyway (only your automatic scripts setting user/pass, and I have enabled the ping response).
I think its a limitation of the device itself.

Re: New FTTC install, slow speeds

Here's a graph of your connection:
<img src="http://community.plus.net/visualradius/generated/image14005985852165.png"/>
I've looked on our suppliers systems and can't see any drops that aren't on the graph either  Huh
Do you have another router you can try? Perhaps a different model?

Re: New FTTC install, slow speeds

Ive got another router, but its not suitable as not able to initiate a PPP session through the FTTC router.
Ill have a look around and see what's available.

Re: New FTTC install, slow speeds

Dan replied to your ticket yesterday on Ticket: 85213816.
Can you reply back to the ticket if you're continuing to have problems?

Re: New FTTC install, slow speeds

Ive replaced the router with a TPlink WDR3600 due to yours crashing (caused major hassles due to a backup failing this morning)
I also didnt get any notification of Dans reply, ill check now.
