New FTTC Line, 40/2 Speed Limit?

Hi everyone, I was wondering if it was normal for a new FTTC line to be limited to 40 down and 2 Mbps up? It's been active for 7 days now. My sync speed in the member centre says 78, I'm on the 78 / 19 product and speeds have remained constant throughout the entire 7 days.
It feels like this is wrong, but I just wanted to ask, is this normal?
I know there's DLM, but I would have expected the speed to have changed at least once in 7 days.

Rubbish! I was really hoping that wasn't going on. I was aware there was a 40 / 2 product. Thanks for the reply though Smiley

Re: New FTTC Line, 40/2 Speed Limit?

Hi GNTC,
I'm sorry you're experiencing lower than expected speeds.
I have placed an order to modify your speeds to allow up to 80/20. This should complete within the next 24 hours and you should start to see an increase in the next 24-48 hours. I'm sorry for any inconvenience caused.
I've created Ticket: 83005670 on your account detailing this as well.

Thanks ever so much Linn, that's appreciated. I look forward to those speeds going up, particularly the upload!

Well, I had a little trouble sleeping so I popped on to check my FTTC broadband. 61 / 18, thank you all very much! I'm very pleased!
