I have just signed up the PlusNet from Sky (sorry about mentioning them)
When I signed up online there was some text that said I should inform my current ISP that I was changing to PlusNet, is this required as I thought it was not as they were informed by PlusNet that they were taking the service over or am I mistaken

Yes and no
No - you should not need to - nor should you - inform Sky that you are leaving otherwise they may cancel your line which will muck up everything. The fact of taking over the broadband and phone will be notified automatically to Sky by BT Openreach
Yes - after the migration has happened it is a good idea to inform them that you have moved to avoid double billing if the above system fails in some way

Many thanks Oldjim (are you really)
I thought it was that Sky were notified, I shall wait then.
