I have experienced a flawless service until today... 😛
PlusNet-
Estimated line speed:
21Mb
Current line speed:
37 Mb
I usually get 36.9Mb in real world downloads!
Download: 36.9Mb
Upload: 7.2Mb
My router and wireless hub are all located downstairs directly connected to the phone line.
I decided to move the route/hub upstairs so that I would not have to use wireless. I used an extension cable for the DSL line.
Upstairs Extension Cable Setup-
Download: 21Mb
Upload: 5Mb
^This was slower than Wifi so I decided to move the router/hub back downstairs, and directly into the telephone line.
Now here's my current wired speed:
Download: 9.36 Mb
IP Profile for your line is - 38.72Mb
So, my speed has reduced from 37Mb to 9Mb. I have returned everything to the same set up I was using before, yet no speed change.
Also, is PlusNet throttling me to 38.72 Mb? As I'm hitting this speed on downloads I would like this limit removed or moved higher if possible.

Hi there,
There's no obvious issue looking at your line and settings.
Are you able to try a PPPoE connection?
Once we get your speeds sorted we can look at changing you to the 80/20 product to see if this helps.

Hi,
The speed issue sorted itself. It fixed itself and raised the sync speed back to 38mb after one hour or so.
Would it be possible to try the 80/20 profile?
I'm currently hitting the limit of 38-39Mb when connected on a wired connection.

You'd have done far better to leave the modem connected to the master socket and then a long Ethernet cable to the router upstairs. That arrangement would guarantee no loss of speed unless the Ethernet cable was more than 100 metres long.

Yes, I ordered a 30 meter Ethernet cable from amazon a few days ago. This is my plan
Added the long ethernet cable:
