Netflix disconnecting internet

Hello there, I'm not sure this is the right place to post this.
I've been experiencing problems for roughly 6 months-8 months, may be even more. When I am watching something on Netflix (using the ps3), atleast once through a 90 minute film, I will get cut off. By that, I mean the internet goes off (as if I just turned my router off and on) it can do this up to many times per film, but that is rare now. It has had me wondering for a while.

Re: Netflix disconnecting internet

How do you connect to the router, wired or wireless?

Re: Netflix disconnecting internet

The ps3 is wireless. My computer is wireless, and the other computer is wired.

Re: Netflix disconnecting internet

Are you seeing the disconnections on the wired computer?

Re: Netflix disconnecting internet

Do you have a SamKnows whitebox for broadband monitoring ?
I ask because despite what the SamKnows website says, my whitebox does NOT skip doing speed tests (once an hour during the evening) when I am watching video (iPlayer and YouTube) although I have NOT (yet) seen related buffering issues with Netflix on my Roku streaming box.

Re: Netflix disconnecting internet

I'm currently watching films on Netflix trying to make it cut the Internet out, so I can see if the wired connection goes too.
I also do not have a whitebox, it doesn't buffer, it 100% knocks the internet off for everything wireless, maybe wired too, just checking it.

Re: Netflix disconnecting internet

When it disconnects, it comes back on after a couple of mins, basically as if it has restarted the router.

Re: Netflix disconnecting internet

Have you looked to see what entries are in the router event log? If it's TG582 the event log is here: http://192.168.1.254/cgi/b/events/?be=0&l0=1&l1=2

Re: Netflix disconnecting internet

When did you last have one of the disconnections? We need the log showing what happens when they occur.

Re: Netflix disconnecting internet

Did you reboot the router or did it do that itself?
