NetGear DGND3300 + Fibre

I have a Netgear DGND3300 with 5Ghz and I'd like to use it instead of the standard Plusnet router which only offers 2.4Ghz.  I'm now on fibre so the Netgear will have to be used just as a router, does anyone know the settings to make this possible?

Its not possible I'm afraid, the DNGD3300 is a combined modem/router, you need a router with a WAN port for use with Fibre.

I don't have Fibre myself so can't say from experience but there's been a few recommendations on here for the ASUS RT-N56U and the later RT-N66U http://uk.asus.com/Networks/Wireless_Routers/RTN66U/

I can happily recommend a Netgear WNDR4000.
Awesomely stable. Gigabit Ethernet. Never locked up on me for the past 11 months its been in use. And it looks pretty good too sitting in the living room or somewhere.

After a little research, I was thinking: Apple Router

Re: NetGear DGND3300 + Fibre

I would go with one of the ASUS RT-N routers over the Airport Extreme.
I know the latest version has improved the wireless range (the previous version was pathetic) but it is still a long way off the ASUS:

I have an ASUS RT-N56U. It's brilliant. Easy to set up & it works perfectly with my Unlimited fibre.
