Rubber banding like crazy in games.
So i went to look in the routes page for my Netgear DG834G and noticed a huge amount of NTP synced, unsynced, synced, unsynced. Really the list was huge of the amount of times this was happening.
I think is has something to do with the U.S DST being different to the UKs?
Anyway i went and found a UK based NTP and put it in the list, i ticked the box that says Use this NTP Server list.
The time changed to the correct one and everything seemed fixed, but a short time later the problem has came back.
Router is an hour out and i keep getting Sync, unsync logs and i'm pretty sure this is what's causing me bad lag spikes in games.
Anyone?

I would call Netgear and use their support (depending on age of the router you may have to pay).

Just for some reason the NTP is going crazy. The routers time is an hour ahead and it then resyncs to UK time then Unsyncs and just keeps doing that a lot of times in a short period.

Not an option given that he's not using Netgear firmware!

That didn't become clear until he posted a pic.

0.freebsd.pool.ntp.org
1.freebsd.pool.ntp.org
2.freebsd.pool.ntp.org
(probably the default for FreeBSD)
I'd be surprised if it was the firmware's fault as I'd expect a seasoned firmware like DGTeam to set the clock to UTC and then use a config setting to display for the appropriate time-zone.
Maybe its just wishful thinking on my part, because that's how everything would work in an ideal world ...
Also, NTP traffic isn't bandwidth intensive, probably under 1kb each transaction, however if the kernel of the router is having to deal with 1hr time shifts frequently that could upset it as the time stamps in the packets would be too far in the future, or too far in the past for the system to make sense of them.
