Before raising a ticket, I thought I would try to get some information here first.
Username: 'pacaya'
I'm on Annex M and there is some history as Dave Tomlinson helped me out around the middle of last year.
BT report is in ticket #32503256
My last PM to Dave on 31/08/2010, 13:41
In one PM Dave mentioned that 'BT have sorted the line profile out but have noted that you've a very high attenuation for a 2km line. '
There was another event around September that was discussed at the end of this thread.
Present issue is that both upstream and downstream dropped early in December and I have been patiently waiting for things to recover but, so far only the upstream has recovered:
1. Can someone tell me what my current profile is?
Previously the following were reported to me:
WBC 160K - 24M Medium delay (INP 1) 9dB Downstream, UC Low delay (INP 0) 6dB Upstream (ADSL2+) on 19/04/2010
WBC 160K - 24M Low delay (INP 0) 6dB Downstream, 864 Medium delay (INP 1) 6dB Upstream (ADSL2+ Annex M) on 05/07/2010
2. Do you think it is worth pursuing the attenuation issue with BT?
3. What options are now available for PN to control the profile, target SNR, banding or whatever on my line? I understood that PN would be able to control the profile 'once the DLM project rolls out', but I'm not sure what has happened on this.
Thanks for your help.

HI Dusty_bin,
I've just had a word with Dave and he said if you resync now you should get a better speed.

Hello Jojo,
I just rebooted remotely and it came back up pretty much the same:
I'll leave it for a while and maybe try again.

Well, I wonder what Dave did exactly, possibly just removed interleaving - can you tell me?
The line speed didn't change significantly until I modified the Netgear SNR fiddle factor. It's always been set at +6dB (200%) but I dropped it to +3dB (150%) and the downlink speed has gone up to 4163 kb/s at the last resync yesterday.
Looks like the target SNR must be around 9dB at the moment?
Well, at least it tells me I'm not banded.

I'm not sure what he did. I'm sure it's some kind of magic he possesses
