The good news: Today I found out that an LLU operator enabled our exchange on 01/09/2010
The bad news: It's TalkTalk!

Actually I think it's another 2 OLO's (Other Licensed Operators)
There have to be 4 providers of broadband (BT included) at the exchange for it to be considered market 3
You can see more info about it here

I have been checking "samknows.com" for years, only to see a date set for my local exchange and then for it to be removed - months after the date passed !
At the moment I have no idea whether the 21CN will appear in months, or years, or never !

The best I can do after talking to our 21CN master is this list and apparently if it's not on there then there's no date.

As my exchange "EAPUR" does not appear on that list either, does your "21CN master" have an idea of when BT expect to have the majority of exchanges working on 21CN ?
Knowing that piece of information would give a "worst case" guesstimate of time scale for smaller Market-1 exchanges !,
although I don't know whether an exchange that serves "940 premises" is small or not really ?

My exchange annoys me. There's cable, every LLU operator under the sun but no 21cn. Very annoying considering the fact that I get no errors on my line and have a 9db downstream attenuation!

1. Cost.
2. It helps to have a remote connection to an external Plusnet line from work for testing etc. I also get asked quite frequently to test kit/new apps etc. that would be rendered pointless if I was using another ISP.
3. I can fix my own problems.
4. I don't need 20mbps. Granted it would be nice, but even for a relatively heavy downloader (which i am) 7mbps already does what i need it to without making me impatient.

I'm annoyed with my exchange as I live closer to another. I'm on WBC and only get 2.5mbps but if I live 100 yards up the road I be on another exchange and will get 10-15mbps. That's annoying.
