My IP Profile

I've had an IP Profile of 1750kbps for about a week now and I'm usually happily connected at about 3.5mbps. I'm not entirely sure why the IP profile dropped in the first place but as far as I can see from the router, the connection has stayed up for 5 days solid now with no change in my IP Profile. Any idea what's going on?  Undecided

Re: My IP Profile

What does the BT speedtest say your profile is. If that is not higher then you still have a speed/line problem.
If it is higher ring support (if you can get through!)

Re: My IP Profile

BT speedtest says 1750kbps. That's what I've been using to check it this past week.

Re: My IP Profile

What are your router line stats?
Until the BT one changes there is nothing Plusnet can do.

Re: My IP Profile

Sorry for the slow response. The router shows the following -
DSL Type: G.992.3 annex A
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 440 / 2,268
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [kB/kB]: 0.00 / 0.00
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 13.0 / 0.0
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 26.0 / 44.5
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 25.5 / 7.5
I'm gonna guessed that I've been banded at 1750kbps IP Profile. Does anyone have any idea how long the connection needs to stay up for before BT will sort it out?

Re: My IP Profile

It looks like the DLM has put you on an 1152-2272kbps banded profile (which gives the 1750kbps IP profile). This usually happens because of disconnections or excessive errors. Do the router stats change if you plug directly into the test socket?

Re: My IP Profile

We usually look for 3 days constant connection before requesting banding be removed, if you give us a nudge on here tomorrow we'll take a look and see if it's still stable.

Re: My IP Profile

Pretty sure the connection has remained solid for the past 3 days now, so bumping this as requested.

I've just put the SNR reset through for you, it should take effect within the next couple of hours.

Re: My IP Profile

Quick question. The connection dropped earlier (due the SNR reset I presume). Do I now need to wait till I've had 3 days solid connection before BT will bump my IP Profile back up?

Re: My IP Profile

depends on how much it dropped, can sometimes on a small drop take longer on a large drop less than three days
