Moving To Unlimited - Some Clarification Please

Hello,
Like many other, I'm thinking of making the leap to unlimited as I seem to be sailing close to the wind every month on my current package.
A few questions
I am currently on Premier 1 and have webspace with domain name attached. Am I right in thinking that if I change over I can keep my webspace and that I will still have full use of ftp etc to keep it maintained?
Will I keep my referral discounts?
The upgrade charge is showing as £103, this seems a little steep?
Can you also confirm that my broadband speed will not change as a result of changing over to unlimited?
As it's an upgrade will this be a 12 month or 18 month contract?
I think that's me for now, looking forward to an answer. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forums Smiley
I made the same move as you are thinking about.
You can keep your webspace etc and carry on using it as before.
Referral discounts remain the same, you do not lose out.
As an existing customer - 12 months unless you take the router and house move which then is an 18 month.
Didn't cost me anything to upgrade, shouldn't cost you anything either.

Re: Moving To Unlimited - Some Clarification Please

The charge is usually displayed if you're already in a contract. The price will be the cost to get out of that contract.
As you're recontracting on the new product we will cancel this off, but you'll need to request that the support team make the change for you.
Hope that helps and apologies for any confusion.

Re: Moving To Unlimited - Some Clarification Please

Mand - when I changed, there was no charge shown, and I didn't need to ask the support team not to charge me.
Surely if there is no charge needed it shouldn't be necessary for the customer to request not to be charged. I'm afraid it looks like plus hoping to make money from the unwary.
Or am I wrong?

Re: Moving To Unlimited - Some Clarification Please

If you didn't see any charges it's likely you weren't within an existing contract at the time.
Because the new products are built entirely differently to the old ones the system doesn't simply carry them over.
I'll check with the dev guys tomorrow though and see if there's a way of sorting this 'cos I agree it's really not the most customer friendly journey.

Re: Moving To Unlimited - Some Clarification Please

Hello Mand,
thanks for your reply. Can I ask for the £103 be canceled out before I go through the upgrade process as I am being asked for my card details before proceeding on the switch. Or does this mean I have to go throught the payment process and then ask for it to be cancelled?
Hope that makes sense,
les

Hi Les,
If you're still looking for this to be done, just give me a shout and I'll schedule the product change for your next billing date, obviously without charging the contract buy out fee!

Sorry to be cheeky, but is there any chance of flippin the switch to unlimited sooner than the next billing date?
