Moved to 21CN

Hi,
A ticket was raised by PN on my acct before christmas saying I was being moved onto 21CN. It looks like I have now been moved onto 21CN as my router is now  reporting ADSL2. I notice that every time it syncs it does it twice. The first time it appears to do it, it always seems to get a high upload speed > 448Kbps. Then it resyncs immediately before forming a PPP session and always syncs the upload at 444Kbps as if this has been locked down.
I can see the first sync using DMT which will show an upload ~ 700Kbps
Given it's now ADSL2 would it be possible to unlock the upload speed? I did ask in ticket 30952918 but got a response talking about Max Premium.
Line Mode ADSL2   Line State Show Time
Latency Type Interleave    Line Up Time 01:01:17:39
Line Coding Trellis On   Line Up Count 4

Statistics Downstream Upstream
Line Rate 3766 Kbps 444 Kbps
Noise Margin 6.6 dB 12.9 dB
Line Attenuation 59.5 dB 34.1 dB
Output Power 0.0 dBm 12.9 dBm
Thanks, Tom.

Re: Moved to 21CN

Unlocking the faster upload might slightly reduce your download speed. You need to confirm that you are happy to accept this risk before asking for your upload to be uncapped.

Re: Moved to 21CN

Hi Tom,
It is possible for us to do that for your upstream, however it can possibly introduce extra errors into the downstream and reduce that speed. I'd be happy to place the order to do it, but want to make sure you're aware of the possible issues this may cause.

Re: Moved to 21CN

Hi Chris,
Yes, I was aware of that and figured it was OK to try anyway. My speed improved with the switch to 21CN and if I lose a little to get a little faster upload then I think that's fine.
I assume it's possible to switch back if it goes haywire (unlikely, I know)?
It's a shame I had to resort to the forum, my ticket made it clear I was on ADSL2 / 21CN.
Thanks, Tom.

Re: Moved to 21CN

I'll go and speak to the agent who replied to your ticket, it looks like it was a simple oversight that you were on 21CN. I'll also reply to your ticket and place the order to allow full upload speed.

Are you saying it's possible for the upload to go higher than 448kbps? or is 448 top whack on ADSL2+ on plusnet?

Re: Moved to 21CN

We can remove the 448 restriction, that's the standard upload speed set on our 21CN orders as it tends to allow a more stable downstream. If we remove that limit you may see upload speeds of around 1Mb.

Re: Moved to 21CN

Thanks Chris, that worked.
As I said in the 1st post every time it syncs, it syncs twice. I can see that the first time it syncs it syncs using ADSL2+ (I can see this in DMT tool output) and then it resyncs straight away before forming a PPP connection using ADSL2, then I get the PPP +net session. Is that likely the DLM deciding my very long string of copper (~5.5-6km) is unworthy of ADSL2+? something set against my line? Or perhaps a crazy router? Just wondered.
Thanks, Tom.

Re: Moved to 21CN

I think I remember asbo dog saying something about long lines being limited to adsl2 rather than adsl2+, but I may be wrong about that.
What sort of router are you using? There will probably be someone here who can tell you how crazy your type of router might be.
