More up to date Exchange Status

The ADSL2 status of my exchange says ’BT have announced a ready for service date for this exchange. The estimated go live date is between 1st June 2009 and 30th September 2009’ and was last updated 9th March. Any ideas where can I go to get an update? Had a look at the BT Wholesale website but couldn’t find anything relevant
ps Hope I've used the correct forum to make this post, if not please feel free to move it
Thanks
Rob

Re: More up to date Exchange Status

Thanks Jelv. It has the following for my exchange:
21CN WBC status Enabled as of 31/05/2009
21CN PSTN switchover target: Q1 2011
Does this mean that ADSL2 is available now  ;D….or do I have to wait until 2011?  Sad

Re: More up to date Exchange Status

It means that it's ADSL2+ enabled now.
Your phone service (voice) won't switch over till 2011 but you can get ADSL2+ now.

Re: More up to date Exchange Status

Thanks guys,
The Plusnet guidance notes suggest that my router, a Netgear DG834G,’May need a firmware update depending on the version’. The Firmware version number is 6.01.00.12; anyone know if this version is compatible.

Re: More up to date Exchange Status

It's the main version at the top of the page you need to look at - current is V3.01.38.
http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/259
Note this was reached by selecting the V1 version of the router. If you are not sure which you have go to http://kb.netgear.com/app/products/family/a_id/1288 (for all versions other than V1 the sticker on the bottom should say which you have).

Much appreciated jelv  :), I’ll have a look when I get home tonight, once I’ve come down from a state of high excitement caused by the start of the Ashes  Grin Cool

Re: More up to date Exchange Status

Its version 3, Firmware version V4.01.40 downloaded, router upgraded and request submitted. Typically, how long does the process take from here?

Re: More up to date Exchange Status

Some time! They are only doing them a limited number at a time (so they can keep on top of problems) and I believe there is a queue at the moment.

Re: More up to date Exchange Status

Thanks jelv.
I suppose I should have confirmed this earlier but I assume this doesn’t change my product, ie Value 10 gb per month, other than the ‘up to 8mb’ bit of course?

Re: More up to date Exchange Status

Correct - it doesn't change your product or the length of your current contract.

Dave's just posted an update in another topic:

Yeah, there were over 200 waiting last time I checked and we were trying to place around 5-10 orders a day so will take a while to process them all. We do though have a piece of automation on the way for placing orders hopefully later this month which should allow us to speed things up a bit but we still want to keep the volumes fairly low so that there isn't too much manual work and faults falling out to the CSC.
