Re: More teething problems

@angushood First question - what router have you got? Second question - what lights/colours are showing?

Re: More teething problems

Hey there,

Plusnet router - 2704N.

Lights: power-solid, broadband-flashing, internet-off, wifi-solid. All green.

Re: More teething problems

OK. First option, do a power cycle - not forgetting to click the disconnect button on the router first. Second, if that doesn't work, try a factory reset.

Re: More teething problems

Hey jab,

Tried both of these just now. No change. Still not finding broadband.

Although there wasn't a specific disconnect button on the router.

Re: More teething problems

Have you put a filter on a filtered faceplate?

Re: More teething problems

@angushood If the above doesn't help, are you sure you have your username / password correct. I can recall spending quite some time (about 6 years ago now) trying to get the darn thing to connect, only to find that my username was not as it should be. Might help, might not.

Ever helpful. Grin Sure, I’d love to help you out. Now which way did you come in?

Re: More teething problems

@angushood I'm confused, but the comments above by @Marksfish  and @idonno are both valid possibilities.

Re: More teething problems

Hi all,

Filter is in the socket, have no other phone sockets being used anywhere either.

Don't have a landline so can't test however the line was connected on Friday and the engineer tested it in front of me and it worked.

Username. Just found it wasn't correct in the router. So tried the correct ones and still no luck. Correct combination and still flashing. Am i supposed to use my email or will the username sent in the welcome email work? Tried both but wanna be sure.

Cheers

Re: More teething problems

@angushood Your username, without anything else, and the password associated with it, are the correct ones for your router. I assume from your comment that this is a single socket into which you have to plug a filter and not a filtered socket?

I keep saying this, but a cheap corded phone (around £5 from the likes of Argos) is an essential tool for checking the phone-lines quality. However, as you haven't got one, try running the automated test from here: https://www.plus.net/help/phone/phone-line-troubleshooting/

My error, @Bogbody , although I thought that '@plusdsl.net' was pre-filled?

Re: More teething problems

Hey,

OK. Account details are correct and entered.

Single socket with a filter plugged in. Have tried other filters too but no difference.

Ran the automated test and no faults found.

Re: More teething problems

In that case, I'm stumped, because it appears your router can't connect to the WAN  -at all - which doesn't make sense.

The only thing I can think is that you have a phone problem, despite the automatic test reporting none, but we can only eliminate that if you have a phone to check it with - the automatic test does occasionally report 'n problem' when there actually is one.
