More random disconnects/reboots

Can someone check my connection please. Yesterday and today at least another couple of random disconnects or reboots. Been happening on and off since the problems the week before. I think there is an issue somewhere.
Thanks

Re: More random disconnects/reboots

Is this FTTC?
Can you run the BT speed test/Further Diagnostics http://speedtest.btwholesale.com ? What's your IP Profile? Has this dropped from before?

Re: More random disconnects/reboots

AndyH, ta for the input. It is FTTC I'll go read up and run the diagnostics and let you know.

Re: More random disconnects/reboots

@AndyH - I don't believe the profiles have changed and my speeds are ok. The issue I am seeing intermittently is disconnects/router reboots - thanks for the link. Having had 10 solid reliable years with Virgin Media cable - I am still adjusting to BT fibre. Perhaps my expectations are too high.
@PlusNet - Would be still be interested if there are any diagnostics over the last 2 weeks and what they show wrt disconnections.
Many thanks

Re: More random disconnects/reboots

Hi there, the connection graph as requested:
<img src="http://community.plus.net/visualradius/generated/image13835733191217.png"/>

Have to admit it doesn't look ideal, but by the same token it could be a lot worse - are those drops leading to reduced speeds?

Re: More random disconnects/reboots

Matt, thanks for the graph at leas I know I'm not imagining it...  Undecided agreed it could be worse - I guess I was spoiled for the last 10 years having cable with no significant outage.... BT fibre seems to still have some issues.
The drops don't (so far) appear to be resulting in reduced speeds - my upstream speed has dropped (I was getting ~9Mbit-12Mbit up for the first 6 weeks or so) however it's always been at least as high as my estimates so I really can't complain about that.
Mainly the drops are frustrating, I work from home mainly (health related) and do a lot of RDP and streamed meetings and obviously the drops knacker that all up.
I'll monitor some more. Have organised TBB ping monitor.

I can see the connection is down at the moment. Can you check if the DSL light is on or not please?

Re: More random disconnects/reboots

All lights are on on the modem and green. All lights are normal on the router except the Internet one which is solid red. My router has the following message in the log from when it went off
Nov 6 15:36:15 PPP link down (Internet) [87.113.90.169]

Re: More random disconnects/reboots

I've just run a few tests on your line and have found the below outcome:
"Service found to be affected by existing network event."
It looks as though there's an outage in your area at the moment. We've not been provided with an ETR on that at the moment I'm afraid.

Re: More random disconnects/reboots

Could this be something to do with my recent problems over the last few weeks? I've had a number of random disconnects.. went of this AM too but was back within minutes. Nov 6 04:30:14 PPP link down (Internet) [87.115.72.16]
Is there anyway to find out more - is there perhaps ongoing works in the area?
Seems to be back again as of about 10 minutes ago.
Also what is ETR?

Re: More random disconnects/reboots

Hmm - there's no further details available at the moment I'm afraid.
ERT stands for Estimated Repair Time.

Re: More random disconnects/reboots

I certainly hope that wasn't the case - but if engineers are working in the area I guess it could be!
I hope your connection stays up - if not, please let us know.

Re: More random disconnects/reboots

I'm always going to be quick to complain (I just don't think BTOR have any excuses for their fibre being down given how solid VM were at my old house) but I think it's only fair to note when things are going well too - it isn't PN's fault. So guys everything has been going ok since the last batch of disconnects a few days ago.!
Hopefully it stays that way and I didn't just jinx it 😉
I am at least happy that Plusnet was the right choice as the support and customer care is pretty good - thanks folks.
