Mismatched profiles

Following a repair to a noisy telephone line I now have a much reduced broadband download speed of 30Mb/s when before the fault it had been a just under the maximum of 38Mb/s. The router was reporting a downstream noise margin of 12dB.

A BT engineer has come here again, reset the BT profile and said the line should be good for 44Mb/s. The router now reports a downstrean VDSL link rate of 40019kb/s with a noise margin of 6.2dB.

However the Plusnet profile is only 31.2Mb/s, with a download speed to match.

Can anyone help please.

Hi pittdj70,

OK so I have run some tests on your line and the connection is running fine and stable. I have also updated your speed profile on your account so all you need to do is reset your connection and you will receive the improved speeds.

Many thanks, downloads are now at a very respectable 37Mb/s.
