Thanks Matt, we got the tests done which is the main thing.
I have a TBB ping monitor already, see http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ping/share/0f3b25d1523cab6d2435155d6225b60f.html
And if you look at the link for the last 24 hours http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ping/share/aff5c01836f36ca5af288d5bb7b4dd3b-03-10-2014.html you can see where I made a Lync call last night at 16:30 there is a large amount of packet loss, which is just my 7800DXL not responding to pings promptly while I am having a video call with a few people.
Note this morning, when we did out tests, there is little or no packet loss at that time.

Any update on this or the ticket 92492407 ?
The traffic shaping is not optimal, if I web browse during a call the audio quality does break up, I get the same problem with Lync and WebEx.

Were the updates to the traffic management system to improve Lync ever updated? The ticket 92492407 has been closed by PN, I can not say I have seen an improvement.

I don't use Lync for calls but was finding that on occasion it was losing sync with the server at peak times. Plusnet suggested that it might be an IPv6 issue (perhaps the traffic management on IPv6 isn't properly there yet?) and I've reverted to my normal account. It does seem better since I did that.

So and a few months on and yet more issues with Lync, which is now called Skype for Business.
In the last couple of weeks I am finding that in conference calls, that the call quality is poor and the connection will be lost.
Has PN changed the traffic shaping at anytime in the last couple of weeks,

@godsell4
Without skipping through the entire thread, how much RAM do you have in your PC? MS Lync is a major resource hog, and if you only have 2GB that doesn't cut it...

Are you finding it is worse at particular times of the day or is it bad all the time?

@jaggies - the machine is Dell E7440 with 8GB RAM
@jelv - no the problem has happened both early in the day and in the evening. I have not yet been able to do systematic testing, but I am certain that switching on VPN to connect with our corporate network did fix the issue at least once.
