Re: Message my free domain will expire !!!

Just wondering why chrisL appears to have started this thread when in fact it was me. And they were about 5 hours later for their first post. ? Shocked

Hi Martin,
Chris posted another thread about this before you.  The moderators just merged the threads Smiley

Re: Message my free domain will expire !!!

Yeah, my post was yesterday, but in the Domains sub-forum where it wasn't picked up.  Martin was OP here, and with a sexier title, hence the thread.  I'm just glad I'm not the only one getting the problem!

Looks like it might be fixed!
My member centre has stopped warning me now.

Re: Message my free domain will expire !!!

When I logged into the Member Centre this morning I got this message:
Quote
IMPORTANT
Domains! Your domain will expire on July 21st - please renew your domain now if you wish to keep it
[ Update ]

This is for the free domain I received after the spam disaster.
A Nominet query reports:
    Registrar:
        Plusnet Plc [Tag = FORCE9]
        URL: http://www.plus.net

    Relevant dates:
        Registered on: 21-Jul-2007
        Renewal date:  21-Jul-2011
        Last updated:  25-Jun-2009

    Registration status:
        Renewal request being processed.

    Name servers:
        ns1.force9.net
        ns1.plusnet.co.uk
        ns2.force9.net
        ns2.plusnet.co.uk

WHOIS lookup made at 11:33:53 06-Jul-2009

Do I need to to anything to keep this free domain? The IMPORTANT message in the Member Centre says I need to do something otherwise the domain will not be renewed yet Nominet report that a renewal is being processed.
Clicking the "[Update]" link in the Member Centre takes me to a page that does NOT make it clear which domain the IMPORTANT message is about, though the relevant one has a "Set Renewal" button shown. Do I need to press that button?

Re: Message my free domain will expire !!!

Hi there,
You shouldn't need to do anything as your domain is set to automatically renew, and as your WHOIS record shows, this has been done.
The message should automatically be removed - We do have a problem open on this currently, as you shouldn't have been promoted to renew your domain as you have this set to auto renew.
