Re: Massive drop in speeds in the evenings

Well sods law, the connection has been perfect for the whole night tonight lol.
I don't think the fault team have looked at it yet?

Speed stayed at over 15meg all evening Smiley

So should I update the ticket or cancel it or give it another night to make sure it was not a one off good night?

Paul.

Re: Massive drop in speeds in the evenings

I wouldn't cancel it on the strength of one night's result, nor add an update until the faults team have responded (unless Plusnet have fixed this problem doing that puts your ticket to the back of the queue).
It's always possible that BT have fixed the capacity issue in the exchange.

Have you seen any connection drops not initiated by yourself?

Re: Massive drop in speeds in the evenings

Hi Jelv,

No, the last disconnect was Monday around 6.30pm which was when I was using the fault reporter and was asked to try a different micro filter.
The speeds were real bad all that evening until around 11pm and since then it's been at over 15meg (touch wood).

@Spraxyt  - Yes it could be possible something changed at the exchange yesterday, well lets hope so anyway.

It was fantastic last night, I was downloading a demo at 1.9meg a second!  Cool

Thanks
Paul.

Re: Massive drop in speeds in the evenings

Thanks Pierre,
I understand a certain drop in speed is to be expected during peak times however my drop was from over 15 meg to below 1meg which indicated a problem to me.

However I am pleased to say it has now been 2 nights without any drop in speed, so I can only assume the issue has been resolved at the exchange.

Cheers
Paul.

Re: Massive drop in speeds in the evenings

Hi Paul,
I wouldn't cancel it yet, I'd see how it goes for now. Even if we send the ticket back to you it will stay open for 14 days, so I'd keep monitoring it.

Re: Massive drop in speeds in the evenings

The connection dropped at some point when I was at work yesterday and it's even faster now Smiley
3rd night with no issues at all.

That will probably just have been a profile change. Good news Smiley
