Massive drop in speed

Hi there my internet has been great since i signed up  solid  7+ meg    but the last few weeks massive amounts of disconnects   randomly through the day/night  and from 9pm this evening the speeds have plummeted too under 116 kbs  usually its close to 950 its taking so long even to load up the forums  too write this up ive followed ever guide   on the usual measures to diagnose  the issue   any help would be wonderful  thanks

edit: just checked my details i dont have a estimated line speed any more and its showing 1mb  as my stated speed  when its always been 6-8

There have been a few disconnections but it was yesterday evening that they seemed to be pretty bad.
Those drops caused the profile to drop down to 1000, this has recovered to 6700 now so you should be seeing those speeds again now.

Hi chris and thanks for the reply  nope speed still the same  tried 3 different tests  and on the profile on the site my line speed has no estimated  figure ( there use to be and  line speed is now 1mb

Hi Jason,
A warm welcome to the forums.  I would not worry about the absence of the speed estimation, nor at the moment would I be looking at speed test results.  You need to focus on line synch stats and stability.  Can you please follow the instructions in the speed issues thread - link below.
Is the phone line quiet? Dial 17070 option 2 using a corded phone in the master socket.
Is the router plugged into the master socket?
Are there any extension?

Hmm, can you try a single disconnect/reconnect of the router for me? Try a speedtest after that.

thanks chris thats it sorted it seems  i needed to do it twice  /me shakes head at computers grrrrr
